Week 2 Response (due 9/9): Write one or two typed, double-spaced pages addressing at least three points from the Student Guidebook <http://web.tamu-commerce.edu/audience/currentStudents/default.aspx>. Focus on Academics, pp. 27--35, and talk about what you see as the most important of these procedures. Include why you think they're the most important, and give evidence that you understand them by summarizing each one.
Week 4 Response (due 9/23): Paper on library tutorials due on Wednesday [http://www.tamu-commerce.edu/library/howto/tutorials/]. Write one or two typed, double-spaced pages addressing a couple of the many tutorials found on that website. Write about what you learned that was new and useful, and explain how you think it is (or will be) useful.
Speaking of libraries, here's that screen-capture video I made for my advanced writing class. It shows how to use one of the library databases: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJGymWSFPDI
Week 6 Response (due 10/7): Paper on either the writing center of the math skills center. Write one or two typed, double-spaced pages addressing the benefits of the center. Include any suggestions for improvement and why those would be good suggestions.

Event Papers: Each of these will be a 1-2 page (typed, double-spaced) critical-thinking paper explaining how attending that event contributes to the student’s college success. Describe what aspect(s) of the event you found especially beneficial and why, and add suggestions for any improvement, explaining why those would be improvements. See the syllabus for due dates.
Bonus points: On the last day of class, turn in one of your graded event papers, preferably the first or second one. You don't have to do anything different with it, but I do need the version with my comments and the grade on it. Turning this paper in will be worth 5 points on your final grade.
